Technical Malfunction

Yargh. Right there. THAT is the problem with having two blogs, one of which is a private blog with your college roommates and the other of which is a public blog with subscribers. Sometimes, you post on the wrong blog! And then a whole bunch of people get your private posts in their email box. *Sigh*. Thankfully, this was not a particularly juicy, offensive post. Thank goodness. Sorry for the multiple emails for all you subscribers out there.

Getting ready

After some thought, I’ve decided to go public! Keeping up with two blogs seems like unnecessary work, so I am moving our CaringBridge site over here. I’m a little nervous since I’ve always kept this site a little bit secret. Now is the time for streamlining though – no time to waste, really.

But first I have to make the place pretty . . .

Doing it right

Right now, Sunday morning, Easter, I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing. Elsa is doing exactly what she is supposed to be doing [napping] and so is John [working on his presentation]. Stella is lying in the sun on the porch, which is exactly what she is supposed to be doing as well. This morning is perfect.

I have a LONG list of projects I want to complete. Endless really. And yet, I find that I waste an astonishing amount of time browsing the internet, fumbling around the house relocating piles of junk, watching TV . . . but mostly browsing the internet.

This morning though – except for this brief, self-congratulatory interlude – I am slogging away at my “Personal History of Breastfeeding and Mothering,” in order to move along in the [surprisingly long and arduous] journey towards becoming a La Leche League leader. The porch door is open. It’s 65 degrees and sunny. Approximately 30grackles are carrying on in the yard. Cup of coffee #3 is underway – this time iced.

I feel like I’m moving forward. Shit is getting done. I’m very happy to be alive. They say you are supposed to acknowledge these moments. They say it makes life better. I’ll buy it.

There. Said it. Done.

Dog. Iced Coffee. Sunshine.

Please excuse our appearance

Please excuse anything bizarre looking here. Under a little bit of construction. In the meantime, baby a la goggles.
